Career:

He created a new trend in film making and mesmerized audience withhis films viz. Pushpaka Vimanam, Mayuri, Taram Marindhi, VichitraSodarulu, Michael Madhana Kamarajan,Aditya 369, Bhairava Dweepam, Brundavanam, Madam Gatotkacha, Life AfterDeath and many. Singeetam trained in direction department from famousHarindranath Chatopadyaya. Singeetam then worked as assistant directorwith KV Reddy from 1954 for films like Donga Ramudu, Mayabazar etc. Helater on became a director and directed about 60 films in variouslanguages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, English.He won many awards for his work including Rastrapati, Nandi and LV Prasad among many.
Singeetam also tried other departments. He used his writing skillsand penned a song in Bhairawa Dweepam. He even composed music inKannada for few Rajkumar's films. It is not an exaggeration to say thatSingeetam is always ahead and gave the audience a new feel and thrillwith his movies. Kannada Journalists association printed a special bookon Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, a rare distinction received only by a few.
Before Singeetam entered movie land, he wrote for magazines likeBharati. He also scripted many plays Brahma, Antya Ghattam,Chitrarajuna etc. His plays always won accolades. His Chitrarajuna waseven translated into English and played in Western countries.
