Biography
Early life

EVV was born in Dommeru, a small village in West Godavari District, on 10 June 1956 to Venkat Rao and Venkata Ratnam. He was born in a rich agricultural family in the village, hence he was also known as pilla jamindaru (Zamindar) in his childhood. EVV finished his schooling in Dommeru and intermediate in Nidadavolu.


Film Career
After reaching Madras. he has faced many troubles. with the help of notable producer Navata Krishnam Raju, he joined as an assistant director at Devadas Kanakala for the film O inti Bhagavatam. Later, he has worked under the famous Telugu comedy director Jandhyala for about 8 years and made 22 films like Nalugu Stambhalata (1982), Rendu Jella Seetha (1983), Nelavanka (1983), Rendu Rella Aaru (1985), Aha Naa Pellanta (1987) and Hai Hai Nayaka (1989). He has also worked in the directorial team of Indrudu Chandrudu.

EVV Satyanarayana started his directorial debut with the film Chevilo Puvvu, which was a major flop. This made him depressed and he has thoughts of giving up and going back home. But his destiny changed when D. Ramanaidu, famous producer gave him a chance to direct 'Prema Khaidhi' which screened successfully in all centers. And, the rest is history. His trademark for comedy movies fololwing the path of his guru Jandhyala garu made him successful. His first movie in the comedy genre was Appula Apparao followed by Aa Okkati Adakku, Jamba Lakadi Pamba etc. He also directed big star commercial movies like Suryavamsham with actor Venkatesh (the Hindi remake had Amitabh Bachchan in lead role) Hello Brother, Alluda Majaka, Intlo Illalu Vantintlo Priyuralu, Goppinti Alludu, Vaarasudu. He also directed critically acclaimed movies like Aame, Thali, Kanyaadhaanam, Ammo Okato Tariku. EVV directed a total of 51 films in the Telugu and Hindi language.

During the last stage of his life, he directed most of the movies with his own sons in the lead roles. His son Allari Naresh is busiest and a well known comedy hero in the current Telugu industry. EVV turned to successful producer under the banner of EVV Cinema with Chala Bagundhi movie. He is known to take special care for naming his movies.
